To celebrate good Friend Sam Jarman’s imminent wedding and for a bit of fun on the stag, John and I designed him an epic board game called Jarmanji. The board game featured 34 squares for each year of his life and 34 cards with questions and challenges based on the specific year. We also had a stack of fail cards with forfeits and designed T-shirts for everyone.
Having worked on PopJam for more than a year I’m proud to announce its release on both IOS and Android. PopJam is a fun creative community where you can share drawings, photos, stickers and audio messages with friends! The app is aimed at 7-12 year olds who customise their profile to express themselves. Users can follow channels and friends to find funny pictures and interesting challenges. As lead designer on the app I developed the first prototype with a small team of 4 in our own time and then went on to define the branding of the current app. I’ve designed the UI for both IOS and Android, the logo, website, marketing, various sticker packs, and helped define the products core features. I’ve also been involved in user testing, and channel content, specifically the ‘game’ and ‘art’ channels. Find out more about the app here then download it and add me, whatwhat and whatwhatjohn.
We’ve also updated our twitter (Ed + John) and facebook pages. Here’s our new Avatars
Having recently redesigned the portfolio section of the website we thought it was about time to make the homepage and blog responsive too, hope you like it.
New responsive website, try it on any device.
I made an oni (demon) mask for my son for Setsubun, the day before the beginning of Spring in Japan.
I couldn’t leave out my newest nephew Max so I illustrated his name using monsters. His older brother Jack had started calling him Max Monster so I took my inspiration from him. I got the design printed on a black baby grow.
To brighten up my nephews room I decided to make him a vinyl sticker based on his name.
It was all about babies in November; not only did I get a new nephew but on November 3rd I also had a son who we called Leon. Like my first nephew Jack I made a print of his name which will be put up in his room shortly.
For my new baby nephew Max I designed him a logo. Maybe he’ll appreciate it when he’s older. Below you can see some other experiments with his name.
